How to clean the Ninja CREAMi

Clean the CREAMi right after each tubpint, before anything dries on. It takes about two minutes.

Updated 8 October 2026

After every tubpint

  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. Take the outer bowl off the motor base and remove the tubpint.
  3. Release the paddle from the outer bowl lid as your manual shows. The paddle is sharp, so hold it by the hub.
  4. Rinse the paddle, lid and bowl in warm water straight away, then wash them in warm, soapy water.
  5. Clean around the paddle hub and under the lid with a small brush.
  6. Let every part dry completely before you put it back together.

The dishwasher

On most models the tubspints, tubpint lids, outer bowl, outer bowl lid and paddle can go on the top rack of the dishwasher. Check the manual for your model first. Hand-washing the paddle keeps its edges sharp for longer.

The motor base

Never put the motor base in water or the dishwasher. Wipe it with a damp cloth, and dry it before the next use.

Stuck-on bits, stains and smells

  • Dried-on base: soak the part in warm water for 10 minutes, then wash.
  • Stains from berries or matcha: rub with a paste of baking soda and water.
  • Smells in tubspints and lids: soak in warm water with a splash of white vinegar, rinse, and let them air-dry with the lids off.
  • Freezer smell in frozen bases: always freeze with the lid on, and use bases within 2 to 4 weeks.

Before the next spin

Check that the paddle is clicked firmly into the lid and the lid is locked on the bowl. The machine is built not to start otherwise. Hot bases should cool completely before they go into a tubpint.
